Project LISA is a non-profit organization with the main objective of promoting the use of innovative techniques for the conservation and enrichment of underwater ecosystems on italian and mediterranean coasts. Coral reefs die for several reasons: increase of the water temperature, illegal dumps, diseases, people ignorance. The ecosystem of a coral reef that took hundreds of years to grow and prosper can be destroyed in a single afternoon by scruple less fishermen. The death of a coral reef affects all surrounding marine life: fishes disappear and also beaches and coastlines may be damaged.
Project LISA is for everyone: sea lovers, divers, researchers, diving centers, provate and public organizations, universities, administrations...
The life of Project LISA depends on voluntary donations of privat individuals and public administrations. Only through these donations we will be able to support our projects and start new ones.
Starting a new project is easier than one may think. Contact us to have more information.
The target of our first project is the Gulf of Alassio, where Project LISA wants to create an alive and fluorishing underwater ecosystem. This "miracle" will be possible thanks to the application of the patented technologies (www.biorock.net) used in the US by the non-profit organization Global Coral Reef Alliance and the cement structures provided by Tecnoreef, both already successfully applied in several other sites worldwide.
